Thinking of You

Dear readers,

I think of you almost daily! I have had many blog-worthy thoughts and experiences this December, but I scribbled most of them on sticky notes, and I plan to share them in the future. I know you are busy and that your E-mailbox is packed with messages.

This season, I have experienced overwhelming nostalgia, unbridled joy, total exhaustion, and buzzing excitement. I like to live life with enthusiasm and emotion, but at Christmas, there are so many memory triggers. I can be transported back in time by recipes, decorations, home movies, snowflakes, music, or scented candles. We human beings are complicated and beautiful creatures.

Thank you for reading From the Cookie Jar. My husband Gord, the boy from the Get a Bigger Wagon books, and I wish you a very Merry Christmas. Here's to a fabulous 2020!

Merry Christmas , Maureen . You've triggered lots of memories for me throughout the year . I thank you for that .
Further to our last conversation , I was reminded of Rosetown's old-time dance club that ran during the winter months and wondered if you belonged , or attended . Always a live band and lots of fun .
May 2020 be all you want it to be .
    Happy New Year .
